It's most likely permissions and/or udev rule issue.

You're probably missing device_info in your device dictionary. There
should be sth like this:
{% set device_info = [{'board_id': '5D415DCE022B1FFE'}] %}
IIRC this is used by LAVA to create udev rule that passes the device
to LXC container.
