[MORELLO-SDK] A simple way to port your applications to Morello

Hi All, I am glad to inform you that our SDK for Morello is finally ready. After months of hard work we are happy to share with you the results of our work. [Announcement] Integration drop 1.6 - changelog

Hi, The top of the master branch has been tagged [0] as part of the integration drop 1.6. Below is the changelog for kernel users, since the previous integration drop (1.5). New features ------------ - Read/write tag access in mappings is now advertised as rc/wc in /proc/<pid>/smaps [1]. - The clone3 syscall now reads full capabilities from userspace in PCuABI, thanks to an updated layout for struct clone_args. The new struct definition is documented in the PCuABI specification [2]. - Device trees for the Morello board and FVP are now included [3]. - A minimal set of options to run a graphical environment is now enabled in the transitional PCuABI defconfig [4]. - The branch was rebased on the 6.1 upstream release. The only user-facing Morello-related change is an updated value for HWCAP2_MORELLO; see the announcement email [5] for details. Bug fixes --------- - Fixed ptrace(PTRACE_POKEDATA) writing too much data in purecap. - Fixed most remaining LTP failures in compat64 and purecap (notably by fixing struct layouts and updating internal constants for compat64). - Fixed a Bionic tests failure in compat64, which was due to the preadv/pwritev syscall handlers misreading the offset argument. - Fixed the vast majority of warnings when building the kernel with GCC. [linux-morello][PATCH 00/10] enable nfs rootfs

This series of patches enables nfs rootfs support on the Morello board. Patches 01 and 02 fix the inital kernel build error associated with a wrong function pointer type within the sunrpc modules due to the unlocked_ioctl fp, the error occurs upon enabling nfs within the defconfig. Patches 03-09 deal with the fallout caused by changes inferred by patches 01 and 02. Details can be found in the description of patch 03. Patch 10 is enabling nfs rootfs by default in the kernel. It was confirmed that the kernel can boot with a nfs rootfs, the other affected modules were not tested. [PATCH v6 0/10] Support io_uring for Purecap apps

This series makes it possible for purecap apps to use the io_uring system. With these patches, all io_uring LTP tests pass in both Purecap and plain AArch64 modes. Note that the LTP tests only address the basic functionality of the io_uring system and a significant portion of the multiplexed functionality is untested in LTP. Hi, This is a small update to Vincenzo's series enabling TUN/TAP support. v1..v2: - Brought back tun_chr_compat_ioctl(), as we need to keep the handling of struct compat_ifreq being of a different size. [PATCH] arm64: signal: Fix stale CSP read

When Morello support is enabled, there is no guarantee that the view of a task's X and C registers (e.g. regs->regs and regs->cregs) is coherent (see also the note on "write coalescing" in Documentation/arm64/morello.rst). X/C merging always happens when returning to userspace, but the value of a task's X registers may be updated without the task being scheduled. This may happen due to ptrace(PTRACE_SETREGSET), but also, crucially, when multiple pending signals are delivered at the same time (typically when the task unblocks them). All capability registers are read in preserve_morello_context(), in order to store them in the signal frame, and morello_merge_cap_regs() is called beforehand to update the view of capability registers. However, there was an oversight in one of the initial Morello support commits ("arm64: morello: Context-switch Restricted registers"): regs->csp is also read in signal_sp(), which is called before preserve_morello_context(). signal_sp() may therefore read a stale SP value. signal_sp() has changed several times since that commit, especially to add PCuABI support. The last commit ("arm64: signal: Fix signal_sp() in compat64") made the issue resurface, as regs->csp is now used in compat64 too. The error condition is indeed difficult to hit in PCuABI, as it requires using ptrace with a very precise timing. On the other hand, it can be reliably triggered in compat64 by delivering two signals at the same time: regs->sp is set in setup_return() when the first signal frame is set up, leaving regs->csp unchanged, and signal_sp() will then read a stale SP value through regs->csp to set up the second signal frame. This situation is precisely what the sigpending02 LTP test creates, allowing the bug to be finally caught. To avoid any further issue, the call to morello_merge_cap_regs() is therefore moved to the very beginning of setup_rt_frame(), before any register is read. Note that signal_sp() is also called from the rt_sigreturn handler, but this is not a concern as the register view is up-to-date at the point where a syscall handler is called.
